Art in the Park 2019

Had great success at the Martinez, Cal. Art in the Park on August 18, 2019!  There were so many great artists there and so many great bands playing all day!  I met so many wonderful people and had such a great time!  Boy, i was sure nervous as this would be my very first arts & crafts fair but that soon disappeared after my first sale!  It made me feel validated for all of my hard work creating art.  I was feeling almost like a fraud if you will thinking that the art I create is so fun and beautiful but people will think really?  You call this art?  LOL!  Why do we always second guess ourselves?  I guess maybe the fear of rejection?  I don't know but boy do I feel better knowing that others really enjoyed my art and what I was about.  I got quite a bit of good feedback, a lot of people telling me my art was beautiful, and even some telling me I was under charging for my work!!!  I am happy with my prices and I am even more happy seeing how people react to my art.  There was a young girl about 10 maybe?  she kept finding her way back to my booth as she kept pointing out the pink heart necklace I had displayed.  A little while later a guy came to my booth and was admiring my work,  then he told me that his daughter kept telling him how she really loved the pink heart necklace so he wanted to buy it for her and surprise her!  I just thought that was so very sweet!  I wish I could see her face when he gave it to her.  Made me happy that she loved my work.  It was a really long day and I was on my feet all day but I loved it!  I also shared the booth with my friend who makes great bath products, All About Jackie Soaps.  We laughed so hard, danced to the music, and really helped each other out all day.  We will be doing more fairs together and it really is fun with someone else there to help you. The  set up and take down wasn't that bad either and it seemed like we were taking home a lot less of our stuff but we just organized it better to take home i think!  So look out arts & craft fairs because I'm coming for you!  LOL!
